My Michelle. Sitting on Granmama's bed looking so sweet and perfect. Flashing me her two tiny teeth.
As a photographer I claim to be a classically trained studio film photographer who has made the transition to digital and now more then studio lighting, I am drawn to natural light. I am a portrait photographer. I love people pictures. I love telling a story. I am into documenting people's lifestyles...... Michelle's baby book will be just that, maybe at times not so perfect and little gritty.
I once had a conversation with a young mom who had talked to a couple Lifestyle photographers about booking a session with her newborn and family. She was OK with the nearly $500 for the lengthy session(s), but she was shocked that she was told very specifically what to wear or not wear and not only to have her house spotless, but that she must go out and buy specific linens, comforters and pillows for her bed (where most of the pictures would be taken.) The baby's nursery was to be more of the same. She was given a list of what items would improve the pictures....
The young mom commented, "But that is not our lifestyle at all. In 30-years, people will view these images and think this is how we lived."
