Moss Landing, Cal.
On Monday we had appointments North of our home and decided that we would stop at the Elk Horn Slough Nature Preserve on our way home. However, the road there was washed out. Instead, we stopped at the Moss landing State Beach. It was cold and windy and threatening to storm. We didn't stay long, but I did get in a short walk. The best thing about stopping in Moss Landing, and a reason to come back, is that there is a colony of sea otters here (see yesterday's post.)
If you are ever driving on Hwy 1, between San Francisco and Monterey, Moss Landing is a delightful place to stop. They have the Elk Horn Slough, beaches, the marina, sea otters and other sea life, antique shops, produce stands, and two of the best places to get seafood in the Monterey Peninsula area. Plus, it isn't as crowded.
