Gas Station South of Moab. Photo taken in June 2014 during our move to Riverdale.
Last week while McKay was visiting we went to see the newest Transformer movie and I discovered that they had used this gas station and a little restaurant near by for locations in the movie.
I was exhausted yesterday by the time I had free time to comment. My brother Wayne spent two weeks in the hospital and got home Thursday night. Yesterday he needed my help transporting him around as he ran errands.
The time together was productive for him--as he got stuff done--and we discussed what he needs to do to get a T-shirt graphics and jewelry business set up. He is paying me to be his new business and social media (etc...) consultant. We discussed business names. He was leaning towards something using his name--like Wayniacs. But I suggested No Nos Clothes. Like No No don't do that! But it is a play on the fact that he has no nose . We are weighing the benefits of names.
A few of you will be curious, so I will tell the story. Wayne said he doesn't mind. Wayne once had it all. He was good looking, had a beautiful wife and four children. They lived in a big, expensive house. He owned his own business as a dirt broker--bringing home over $100,000 p/year.. Then in his late 30's he began to lose it all. He broke his collar bone (?) in a skiing accident and got addicted to prescription pain meds. About ten years ago he had nothing left and he tried to commit suicide and did not succeed. Now he has no nose. His mouth and jaw are screwed up. I won't say he is ugly, because I've grown use to his face and I have found beauty there.... No matter how bad my life seems to be, I have a constant reminder that things can always get worse and to continue to fight to simply stay alive.
