The Path Not Taken. Which way to go? Tough choice. In this case, it didn't matter because it was only a loop.
My new camera arrived! YAY! I had one of those choices to make. I received a settlement for my work related injuries--not a lot of money, but enough to get on top of things. I wanted a new camera (my old one was a gift three years ago from Byron. A Rebel XSi. It still works, but I felt I had earned a reward....) I pondered how much to spend? Did I put about $2000 into a camera or.... get the bottom of the line (and put the money away to pay bills in the future?) I doubt that I will ever shoot another wedding or even spend a couple hours doing a life style or story telling shoot. I no longer have the stamina and my immune system is weakened. I may occasionally shoot a mini-session, but did I need a camera with all of the bells and whistles to do that? With my XSi, I've had non-professionals/clients/friends tell me that I take great pictures--but "You have an expensive camera." Yeah, but is it only the camera? I have a great lens (which fits the new camera) and I know how to edit pictures.... plus, I have an eye for composing my images, etc.... I decided that for where I am now less was better.
But you know..... I really wanted a new toy. :-) Hopefully, over this long weekend I'll be able to get out and start a friendship with my new camera.
