Rodeo. The Cowboy and horse almost appear to be dancing... You put your left foot in and you shake it all around...
I don't know, but there seems to be something fluid and unified in the lines in this picture. It isn't a great image as far as clarity goes, but it was taken at Tingley Coliseum with 3200 iso with the f-stop open almost as wide as it would go....probibly at a 50th.... and the action was fast....
I will turn in four images tonight of two sports events in my photo journalism class. I am not sure which shots I will use, but a couple of the images will be from the rodeo.
Thanks to Andrea for her wonderful advise for capturing images at a Rodeo. She helped me a lot with this assignment. I still have a lot to learn about shooting contact sports or fast paced, action sports events... but this was a good start.
ETA: I think Duane said what I was trying to say, "there is a magical almost symmetric effect in this shot - the legs almost mirror each other - great catch"
I am slowly editing the 600 images I took at the fair and during the rodeo.... (I've already deleted half. I think about 100 will survive--with most of those being ok, but not A+ material) Go here to see more: http://indigodreams.smugmug.com/Albuquerque/NM-State-Fair-and-Rodeo/13929151_2MiVt#1024989843_V5jwB
