Pink Lemonade Infusion
Not great pictures, but time today is limited and i just finished the quilt.
This one was created without a pattern or plan--I simply let it whisper to me. The only thing I knew when I started was that the border on the front would be the red Paisley/Southwestern print. i didn't even know the quilt was about Breast Cancer. Part way thru, a friend said it reminded her of Summer and Pink Lemonade. I decided the front represented the infusion stage of cancer for me. I included Pink Lemonade, because I'd rather be infused with pink lemonade than Taxol or the red stuff I got earlier in chemo.
I meant for the whole quilt to have an off balance, abstract, asymmetrical feel. I created the crazy quilt squares to be assorted sizes because cancer comes in various assortments, all crazy, all different sizes and shapes. The back has four off center, lopsided squares with "X's". The squares are about breast cancer. The pink mandala fabric represents breasts, the gray circles represent the tumors. The X is for NO cancer.
I will be selling this quilt at the fund raiser my children and X-husband put together. The price is $675.
I will be gone for 8-days. I will have limited computer access. I may not show up here at all to post images, because I may not be able to down load my images.
