El Jay saw that I've posted three fotos of big bro Malarky and was like.... "you were going to post pictures of my knights fighting....." You know, it is all about equal time for the kids.... even if one is 25 and the other is 10. So here you have the Right side of his window vignette.

Pebbles, the grandfish. (Yes, not goldfish, but grandfish. My children are at the pet stage of life. Maybe someday there will be a grandchild or two...)

I am posting this because Jeddy took the picture and asked me to post it. Jeddy won Pebbles last year at the State Fair! In Sept Pebbles will celebrate one year living with us. We just bought him a bigger aquarium and are considering buying a fish friend or two. Whenever he hears my voice he starts swimming around all cute and happy with that sweet "Grandma, spoil me look." So, I feed him. Spoiling is my job.

First Day of School.

I no longer buy the school pictures. They are expensive and not very good. I know I can get something better myself, for less. El Jay did not like this because it is B&W--the color version has a red-orange wall which left him looking washed out. I'm not worried, I know I'll get more portraits of him throughout the year with the majority in color.

Yesterday was crazy.

Driving home from yesterday's shoot El Jay had the camera in the backseat. He loves to be a drive-by shooter (shouldn't joke about that because while Jeddy was at the park one day this week someone fired four shots at a car--the guy with the gun was about 10 ft from Jeddy and his girlfriend.)

The Dog House is a Albuquerque-Rt 66 Icon. It doesn't look like much and I think the average tourest would pass it by, but it has been in the Duke City since the heyday of Rt 66. If you want a good foot-long-chile-and-cheese-hotdog and you are in Albuquerque, stop here to eat. A warning, the chile is HOT.

Picture taken by El Jay Rey age 9.

Before he went to bed last night he made me promise to post one of his pictures here. You may all get to see more of his perspective of Rote 66 from the backseat.

El Jay wanted to make a card for Mother's Day to post in his gallery, but he was too busy looking for sticks to fight aliens with. Instead, he looked thru my pictures and picked this one that he said I could post and pretend he had given it to me for Mother's Day.... I'm not sure that counts, but he loves to try to find HIS image in the daily forum. he promises to recharge his camera batteries and take pictures soon.

Happy Mother's Day.

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far" (attributed to Theodore Roosevelt)

These are El Jay's hands. He directed this one. He struck the pose.I took the picture. He was sad when I decided to post the cross as my stick and asked if I'd post it in his gallery. Here it is.

El Jay loves sticks. Sticks are so awesome and handy, especially when you are a boy named El Jay. I think he is a warrior fighting evil in the story he told me as we took this set of images. He cannot wait til I let him take more fighting with a stick battling bad guys pictures. He says, "Thanks Mr Cole for this challenge. I had fun helping my mom."

Happy SNOWYTINE'S Day from El Jay.

El Jay made this cute little snowman in art class at school and brought him home today. He saw all my Valentine's photo props and asked if he could arrange Mr Snowman for a picture. This is the result. He told me that Mr Snowman doesn't have a girlfriend this year and he, El Jay, thinks snow days are better anyhow; so, this is a Snowytine's Day card. El Jay also felt that by posting this Mr Snowman would meet the love of his life, Miss Snowgirl, and next year Valentine's Day would be a whole different story.

He also said he hoped that next year I'd have a boyfriend and maybe someday.... he'd have a dad. Ahhh.... well..... it is easier to help him make another snowperson, so Mr Snowman won't be so lonely.

Merry Christmas from El Jay and Indigo

From Top Left: El Jay at about one week old. His dad was Santa at the Church Christmas party. Kind of bitter-sweet--since his dad will never be part of his life now. Kind of creepy that his dad was Santa for all those kids. Considering what he is.... El Jay at 24-months. El Jay at four.

Bottom from left: El Jay at five. El Jay at eight. El Jay at nine.

I thought I'd include a 2nd Santa picture from El Jay's first Christmas. These are all my children in 2002. The Santa is my dad.: http://indigostudios.smugmug.com/Daily-Photos/El-Jays-Random-Inages/15312304_bFRF2g#1645565929_gqJHv6F
