This is where you will find a picture I post daily--or almost daily. When life gets stressful or I feeling drained of creative energy, my personal rules for posting say I can take a break. No one will punish me for not doing this daily and it does not mean I have failed. I try to post something new each time I post here. It is hard to shoot daily, so I am satisfied with posting something I took that week or even that month. Occasionally, I pull something from the archives. I began posting here in October 2009. I felt I needed to push myself to take pictures more often and to hone my skills. I believe I am better today than I was over two-years ago. I still consider myself to be a student and hobbyist, because I have yet to earn money with my photography. By the end of this year, however, I will be a professional photographer. That is my #1 goal for 2012.
From the minute we are born, we began to watch for our own death.
Local Graffiti Artist makes a living selling Deathwatch Beetle stickers. Here he shows me a stencil.
You know that I will be working all week to give whatever I post in here the theme of LIFE. How do you think this works as my photograph for the Project 52: Week #2: Theme Life?
This is son #2--age 24. What I like most about this image is his beenie. I bought that for him when I was in nearly Morocco 21-years ago and he still has it. The beenie is green which was his favorite color at age three. I decided to process this in B&W because it gave it a starker feeling and cut out noise. In this case if the theme of the photo is LIFE (and death) then using a contrasty monotone was the only choice for processing.
